Chicago-based Fletcher Camera & Lenses Goes for I-Movix New Solution.
Fletcher Camera & Lenses - a major player on the US broadcast and cinema markets - purchased the new SprintCam Vvs HD from I-Movix. The Sports Department from Chicago is already using the Phantom-based new integration that will be officially introduced for the first time at the NAB show in Las Vegas. As part of the I-Movix growing network of US and worldwide partners, Fletcher will make available the I-Movix technology for major US sports events. The I-Movix new solution will supplement Fletcher's extended range of profesional broadcast equipments while offering the US audience with unique extreme slowmotion images in real time.
Dan Grainge, VP at Fletcher:
"We at Fletcher are very excited to start using our new I-Movix system. For the first time, I-Movix has made a complete package based on the single chip high speed cameras. The camera system makes the usage of the camera familiar to anyone in the broadcast industry. It incorporates a hand-held camera body with integrated viewfinder, tally and intercom all running down a single SMPTE fiber to a CCU in the truck. These improvements increase reliability and picture quality while greatly reducing setup and training. We look forward to using it on NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL telecasts this year."
Laurent Renard, CEO at I-MOVIX:
"The I-Movix team is delighted to announce this new deal which follows I-Movix previous participations at the NAB over the last years. After successfully testing the camera in Chicago, we noticed that we were on the same line with people from Fletcher. Indeed, their feedback and recognised know how are valuable to offer US broadcasters a product that meets the demand of our customers. This first reference in the US is promising and will allow us to further develop a market which is strategic for us".
On the eve of the NAB show where the camera will be introduced to the US audience, this first camera made available in the US augurs well for the next steps on the other side of the Atlantic.
